The SONA Digital Double Boiler is a digital double boiler that makes use of water-insulated cooking technology to cook a multitude of dishes to perfection for 2-5 pax. Simply place the ingredients into the premium quality ceramic pots provided and place them into the double boiler along with water, then set to cook. The water will boil, transmitting heat evenly to the ceramic bowls, which will indirectly cook the ingredients inside, locking the nutrients inside the food.

Handcrafted under 1300 degrees, the ceramic pot has a double-locking mechanism lid that locks the ingredients in the pot, allowing none of the nutrients to be lost. Due to this design, the smell and taste of previous meals cooked in the pot will not affect the new dishes being prepared. Although ceramic pots conduct heat slowly, they have superb heat retention. An inner recessed lid guards against evaporation, while an outer domed lid keeps excess water out. Soup ingredients must be placed inside the ceramic pot, which is then placed in boiling water in the outer pot.

The SONA Digital Double Boiler has a pre-set timer that will automatically start cooking the food at a predetermined time. You can place your breakfast ingredients into the double boiler at 10 pm and pre-set for 6 hours and cook for 3 hours, letting you wake up to the smell of breakfast ready at 6 am. Waking up a little later? The SONA Digital Double Boiler has an auto keep warm function that will ensure the food stays warm until you need it.

What is Double Boiling?

Normal boiling is brought to a rolling boil over high heat before the flame is lowered, and it is then simmered for 3 hours. Double boiling, on the other hand, is a much slower and more gentle process characterized by submerging a ceramic pot within an outer pot of boiling water, and the soup is not boiled twice.

This technique is said to achieve the maximum extraction of flavor with little compromise to the flavor or texture of the ingredients used. It is, therefore, the method of choice for coaxing forth the delicate flavors of shark fin, bird's nest, or dessert, as well as for preparing nourishing tonics.

Cautions:

• Water level must be between the minimum water level and maximum water level indications.
• Never immerse the body, which contains electrical components and heating elements, and/or the power cord in water or rinse it under water.
• If the appliance does not switch off automatically after the water inside has dried off, add some water or unplug the appliance immediately. Do not touch the heating plate.

How to Clean:

1. Remove all packaging materials and stickers.
2. Thoroughly clean the ceramic pot steaming plate and interior of the main body with water some washing-up liquid and a non-abrasive sponge.
3. Wipe the body with a damp cloth twisted dry.
